Blue Frog Technologies is a Florida based Corporation founded in 2002 by Dr. Alex J. Ruiz-Torres (President and Principal Investigator). Prior to forming Blue Frog Technologies, Dr. Ruiz-Torres served two summers (1998 and 1999) at the Kennedy Space Center as a Faculty Fellow, and in 2000 was awarded a technology development grant )NASA STTR) as a faculty member at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). The summer fellowships and university grant sparked his interest in space operations and other complex supply chain problems faced by government and private sector organizations alike. Blue Frog Technologies is a company dedicated to providing solutions in these areas using operations research, engineering, and business modeling techniques.

Blue Frog Technologies brings in collaborators for its project as dictated by the project's requirements.  Among them are Marcella Cowen (system analysis), Dr. Kazou Nakatani (systems and information analysis), Dr. Arnukumar Pennathur  (human factors, expert systems and reliability modeling), and Dr. Jianmei Zhang (reliability modeling).

  • Dr. Ruiz-Torres is also a faculty member at UTEP and received his degrees from Penn State, Stanford, and Georgia Tech.

  • Marcella Cowen is an independent consultant and received her degree in business logistics from Penn State.

  • Dr. Kazou Nakatani is a faculty member at Florida Gulf Coat University and received his degrees from Texas Tech  and San Diego State..

  • Dr. Arunkumar Pennathur is a faculty member at UTEP.

  • Dr. Jianmei Zhang is s a faculty member at UTEP and received her doctoral degree from Kansas State University.
